Your decisions have effects in Death of the Outsider. Posted: 10 Apr 2020 08:44 AM PDT I'm really annoyed when people complain about DOTO's exclusion of the chaos mechanic as if not having a pessimistic/optimistic ending is the same as your actions having no consequences, there are about as many consequences as there are in Dishonored/Dishonored 2 from mission to mission. Like how if you wreck the Spector Club it's closed for repairs in the next mission or how different announcements are heard depending on how you felt with Ivan Jacobi and Shan Yun. It's literally just the same as the previous game only the world doesn't magically get worse if you kill people. [link] [comments]

What are everyone’s favorite bone charms? Posted: 10 Apr 2020 04:06 PM PDT I'm currently doing a non lethal run, without caring about detections. What kind of bonecharms should I look out for? Especially with bonecharm crafting? Also if you wouldn't mind helping me out a bit, I kind of hate the bonecharm RNG. I want strong arms, so I can choke faster. I've gotten it in the past, and made a 4x charm out of it. I'm now on mission 5 and still don't have it yet. I thought since it was new game + I would have all my bonecharm traits or something atleast, and making an actual "build" has lost its appeal since I have to play through the whole game apparently to get the charm I want. The question is, if I go through and grab every bonecharm on this playthrough, will a new- new game+ feature all the traits and such? [link] [comments]
Does Corvo lose his powers for good? Posted: 10 Apr 2020 11:44 AM PDT Since the canonical ending is low-chaos Emily with powers, that means that Corvo is not the one the Outsider gifts the powers to early in the game. So does that mean that Corvo has lost his powers forever? [link] [comments]
[Discussion] If you could make Dishonored 3, what would you do? Posted: 09 Apr 2020 10:12 PM PDT So we know that it'll probably be a while before we see Dishonored 3. Arkane are more focused on Deathloop right now even before they likely stopped everything and sent people home. Still, it's fun to speculate. What would you do for Dishonored 3? For me personally, how I'd do it is: -25 years after the events of Dishonored 2, Emily is still Empress, and now has 3 kids: Jessamine, Euhorn, and Antony. -Corvo was a loving grandfather who helped Emily raise the kids. He especially grew close and Antony, the youngest of the Kaldwins. With his older sister slated to become Empress one day, and his brother the black sheep who is regularly at odds with his mother, Antony trains with Corvo to eventually become the new Royal Protector. However, when Antony is 13, an incident he and his older brother Euhorn are involved in ends in Corvo getting shot by an unknown assailant. He dies later on, Emily by his side. At the funeral, a massive argument ensues between Emily and Euhorn, and it ends with Emily banishing him from the palace, disowning him. She tells Antony what happened wasn't his fault. More hers, for not always being there for her kids due to her duties. Despite this, Antony still feels guilty. -Meanwhile, tensions between Tyvia and the rest of the Empire are strained. Tyvia, which has always sort of done its own thing, is angling for more independence. People worry this will lead to a civil war between the Empire. -The game begins five years after Corvo's death. It's Emily Kaldwin's 50th birthday, a day of celebration in the Empire. All political matters are set aside, and Emily throws a party with herself, her family, and the servants and guards. Things go well until the door flies open, and in walks Euhorn. He talks about how much he's missed the Tower. Everyone stands up on guard, and Emily tells Euhorn he isn't welcome. Jessamine tries to calm everyone down, saying that they can talk this out. However, in come half a dozen guards dressed in Tyvian colors. Euhorn says he got a little help from the Minister of Tyvia. Suddenly, all the Tyvian guards blink around, killing all the guards in the room. Emily is appalled, saying this is impossible. Jessamine tries talking to Euhorn. He says he always liked her best. That she always treated him right. As such, she gets to be out of the way for what happens next. Suddenly, a hole opens up in the air. The Void. It sucks in Jessamine. Emily and Antony scream and leap after him, but they're subdued the Tyvians. Euhorn leans over Emily and takes away her Mark, saying she's one of the last to have ever gotten "Marked by Him." She asks how this is possible, and Euhorn tells her that it's of no concern. Both her and Antony are knocked out. -From there you choose who you play as, either Antony or Emily. Regardless, both characters are put on a prison barge bound for a small island off the coast of Tyvia. Both of them are put on opposite ends of the barge. Whichever one you play as, they're taunted by a pair of guards. However, right in the middle of their taunts, time slows and eventually stops. A familiar voice rings out. For Emily: "Ah, Emily Kaldwin. We really ought to stop meeting like this. What are the odds? " For Antony: "Antony Kaldwin. You made it to adulthood before your first coup. Rather late for a Kaldwin, I'd say." -The figure reveals that he is the Outsider. At least, he was. The protagonist says that he died, to which he tells them "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated," although he has become human as a result of his final meeting with Billie Lurk. Still, "One's never truly free of the Void," and he seems to still have a trace of its power, which allows him to use Blink, Bend Time, and Dark Vision. Still, he can't exactly grant power anymore, opting instead to interfere directly. He offers to help the Kaldwins, saying that Euhorn has become involved in something even more powerful. He knocks out the guards and leaves the door open, telling them to meet him by the skiff after rescuing the unselected protagonist and dealing with the ship's captain (either through assassination or inspiring a mutiny among the crew causing him to be thrown into the brig). -The characters go to Tyvia where they meet several friends. Dr. Hypatia, who was forced to leave the Addermire after someone revealed that she was the Crown Killer, and Alistair Sokolov, bastard son of Anton Sokolov who shares his genius, although he's the polar opposite personality-wise. The main plot is focused on people who funded and participated in an exploratory mission to the Pandyssian continent. About a hundred of the smartest people in the Empire, and twenty or so bodyguards, departed from Tyvia four years ago. Only fourteen came back three years later. Alistair was to be on that expedition, but missed the ship because of the interference of Euhorn, who had snuck onto the expedition. The former Outsider speculates that this is how he got his powers from the Void. -In addition to story targets, there's also more of an open world aspect. The maps aren't terrible large, but there are plenty of sidequests and secrets to unlock. Think like a Soulsborne game but with the Dishonored touch. -The Void itself communicates with the player, giving them powers. Apparently it's been in chaos ever since the Outsider was deposed. Without a deity to channel its energy through, the Void has started leaking into the material world, and Euhorn's meddling is accelerating the issue. The Void speaks to the player through a form that shifts through several who have wielded its power: one minute it takes on Corvo's appearance, the next Daud's, then Delilah's, and so forth. Those are just some of the ideas of what I'd include. What would you have, gameplay and story-wise? Be creative! Don't just give a one-sentence thing about a different era, or a new character or whatever. Go into detail with a new character if that's what you're after. I want to hear ideas, no matter how creative. [link] [comments]
An accidental high chaos playthrough Posted: 09 Apr 2020 06:56 PM PDT So I'm playing #2 and using the heart to get insight into the NPCs before deciding whether they live or die. If the heart reveals something good/neutral/not that bad about the NPC I let them live, if it says something terrible I kill them. So long story short I kill like 95% of people as I'm doing this for both civilians and guards. Is everyone terrible in Karnaca/Dunwall? [link] [comments]
Help me enjoy these beautiful games. Posted: 10 Apr 2020 08:48 AM PDT This may seems a stupid post, but I have a big problem with these games. I love first person action adventure stealth games(deus ex franchise is one of my favourite games) but even though I played Dishonored1 and 2, I rush them because I get easily bored. I think the main problem that I have with these games are the fact that I want to explore EVERYTHING in every map. This means that I have a lot of difficulty because the mission becomes harder. An example: in other stealth games, where you don't have to pick up collectibles, money etc etc, you go straight to the point. Kill the target X? Well, recognition around the map, weak points, kill only who is directly in the way of your plan and kill the target. I can't do this in dishonoured because I need money, runes, bone shards etc. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Apr 2020 06:02 AM PDT I want to make a poll for each game to try and see which is the best mission in all of Dishonored, I will start with Dishonored 1 and then move onto the Daud DLCs and then Dishonored 2 and then Dishonored DOTO. Once we have all the best missions of each game we will pit each one against each other and see which is overall, the best Dishonored mission of all time. Also since the Polls have a limit I will divide it into two parts for the mainline games, the first five missions, and then later four missions. I have done Dishonored 1 and Dishonored Daud DLCs, those poll will be up for another couple days if you still want to vote. I will now continue with Dishonored 2. I am really enjoying doing this and I love seeing the results and seeing what is clearly not very well liked levels across the various games. I can't wait until we get to final poll and we can finally nominate the best level of all of Dishonored. This is so much fun, hopefully other people feel the same. This is the second poll for Dishonored 2, enjoy voting. We are all bored and in quarantine so why not? [link] [comments]
