playing dishonored 2 with no kills is seriously the most fun I have had in an fps in a long time

    Posted: 02 Oct 2021 10:27 AM PDT

genuinely a super hard challenge and super fun and satisfying. I ended up just knocking people out or using the sleep darts so it's not that hard, the problems come in when I'm spotted, that is when the fun begins.

Far reach has been a god send and has made this adventure alot easier. Still really difficult but definitely helpful.

I decided my first playthrough on pc to be a not kill run since my first playthrough, I didn't adventure the area nearly enough and ended up not having many abilities that I wanted. I would highly recommend doing this challenge as it forces you to be smart or use the environment to your advantage. I should state, I'm not doing a strict run, if someone accidentally falls in the river or anything that happens after I knock them out, I'm not reloading as that's a bit much for this playthrough.... although my next will be very strict

overall, absolutely a 10/10 and possibly the best stealth experience since my first time playing metal gear solid 2.

btw i'm only on Edge of the world :p

I saw someone run Hypatia and I thought I'd try the same thing [Dr. Hypatia, no glitches, no new game +, roughly 1:30min]

We're big fans of Sly Cooper and Dishonored. Here's a look of a VERY EARLY prototype for our new VR stealth collectathon:

Weird screenshots from a DOTO playthrough

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 07:57 PM PDT

Why do the levels in DOTO feel less open than the other games?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2021 03:05 PM PDT

I recently just finished DOTO after getting it on a sale. While I had some fun with the usual sneaking and eliminating enemies, I couldn't shake the feeling that most of the levels didn't really give me many options for traversing them (with the exception of the bank mission). Idk if it's just the nature of it being a standalone expansion or what but these were my thoughts throughout the game.

    Crafting a Fantasy Witchcraft

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 10:53 PM PDT

I liked how witch magic was almost done in this game.

    1. Paint the world as you want to will it to become
    2. Your painting shows a tree. With witchcraft you speedily grow a matching tree in the real world to "pencil in" a connection between your painting's alternate reality to the real world.
    3. The painting is made of pigments. Create runes made of pigment, growth (plants), and death (human bones) as magical capacitors to "shock" into existence an active magical connection.

That's not quite what witchcraft is in the game. But it seems a unique way to do witchcraft in a fantasy setting that still draws from traditional witchy tropes of art, nature, bones, etc.

What did you like about witch magic in the Dishonored setting?

How would you make the setting's version of witchcraft more finished if trying to use it in fan fiction, a fantasy RPG setting, a spooky campfire story, etc.?

Any way to limit kill animation pool?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2021 04:58 AM PDT

They look great and all, but when I go in for a 1 second kill, and Corvo wastes 2-3 seconds showboating and gets me spotted, its just kinda frustrating.

    Hard run

    Posted: 02 Oct 2021 02:17 AM PDT

Hello People. So I was thinking.

Has anybody ever done a no powers, no kills, no detections, no upgrades in black market, no crossbow, no grenades, no bone charms, no mines run in Dishonored 2? Just you choking enemies and nothing else.

I feel like it would be doable and it doesn't sound like an idea that nobody else had, but I also think that it would just be too hard for most people (me included)

EDIT: I forgot about the use of no pistol. How dumb of my part, considering that it's one of the two main weapons of the game.

Death of the outsider, can I kill everyone?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2021 05:04 AM PDT

Just started this game and I am NOT stealthy at all, so I get detected alot. Can I kill everyone who's trying to kill me first without it affecting the gameplay? It's my understanding that you can't go back to previous locations.

This is the first Dishonored game I've played.
