A short appreciation post for the community. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:22 AM PDT Well this shit's gonna sound generic as fuck, but i had no idea there were so many people who loved the dishonored francise. So what i wanted to say is, thank you guys and gals, for making me feel like am a part of something. [link] [comments]
I just cracked the Jindosh Lock in about 10-15 min and I'm so proud of myself. Posted: 15 Apr 2020 11:00 PM PDT This is my first playthrough of D2 and I'd heard about how hard this lock is, but using process of elimination, I didn't find it all too difficult. Am I alone on this one? [link] [comments]

Would you want the next Dishonored game to have a voiced protagonist? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:32 AM PDT Personally, I don't think D2 needed Corvo/Emily to talk. Most lines didn't really add much and I enjoyed the approach in D1 more, as I could better insert myself into the story and find my own motivations. Both expansions (KoD/Bw+DotO) have already defined characters, so it fit them better than having them be silent imo. Overall I'd prefer a silent protagonist for the next game (or like in Prey, where your recordings don't necessarily have to represent your current character). [link] [comments]
Can these mechanics still make a dishonored game? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:31 PM PDT I found the controls of equipping your spells and gadgets on your left hand and the sword always on your right hand pretty weird but had ALOT of fun with the Dishonored games. Somewhere in this subreddit I remember a dude mentioning dual wielding different gadgets which one on each hand which I found quite interesting... My course involves game design so I'll inevitably make games anyway (with dishonored being a strong inspiration) so... What if the spells are mapped to special commands on a controller? like you have a radial menu and you equip gadgets only in that radial menu and for you to use spells, they are mapped to a different button and sometimes combine spells too (binding a spell to a certain button) like giving a choice to let the player map this spell to this command (like Blink to the Circle button??? no way) Or the option to throw an object to an NPC (like superhot) which can provide very interesting tactics( like throwing a bottle obviously, A Mine, an uncooked grenade or a Rat to scare enemies) I wonder if Mirror's edge's parkour would blend well with Dishonored's gameplay tho... Imagine...
I ALSO wonder if the Plasmid/Vigor abilities would fit into Dishonored's gameplay too... [link] [comments]
How do runes work in the lore? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 11:27 PM PDT How are they used to gain powers? In other words, what does the powers menu represent? Where are they put after being used? Are they used only once when you acquire one or more powers, and then discarded into the Void or something? Or do you carry them with you forever after using them to grant you powers? Also, do those marked by the Outsider instinctive know the spells they mutter from the Outsider himself? Or do they learn them some other way? I'm not sure if this last (compound) question is directly related to runes, but it might be for all I know. I haven't played anything other than the first Dishonored game (but not it's DLCs), which I've completed, so please either avoid or conceal spoilers for any other games' or DLCs' plots in your comments. If the details I'm asking about are revealed in the sequel or in any of the DLCs, then please let me know. Edit: While I'm at it, I might as well ask about bone charms and their menu. How are they used (activated/deactivated)? I presume that the ones you have "room" for are easier to store because of their small mass. That being said, where are inactive ones held? I just got finished with the flooded district mission where you're escaping the sewer. Posted: 15 Apr 2020 05:58 PM PDT Up until this point, all of the missions I've done have had low chaos with no more than 5 enemies killed per mission. In the sewers, I killed all of the infected which came to a total of 39 hostiles killed and high chaos. Does that mean now my total chaos is high? Or is it just for this mission? I didn't think screwing around in one mission would mess everything up and give me high chaos for the ending. [link] [comments] |
