    Coming back after a burnout

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 11:52 AM PDT

I played Dishonored 1 like 7 times and dishonored 2 over 15. I got super burnt out lmao but I recently got another copy of the GOTY edition for the PS3 because it'd be cheaper than just buying the dlc and I'm coming back to it. Let's hope I am still a semi capable assassin after like a year lol.

Does the special action effect the game? (btw if you havent, pick up the daud dlc's. Theyre way more worth than the money they cost)

    Sword only

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 12:12 PM PDT

So I thought you could only do the left hand only because the animation for putting away your sword but if you practice it you can pull out the sword during putting away your left hand. You have to do left hand only then you can do it. I didn't know this was a thing and maybe you guys have already figured it out but I just figured it out. It's pretty cool imo

Lady Boyle level a bit disappointing.

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 11:12 AM PDT

One of favorite moments from Dishonored 2, and all of the Dishonored series, is the Jindosh Riddle. I thought it was so unique for a modern game to have something like this in it. Something that required me to go outside of the game to solve. I'm now going back through Dishonored 1, trying for a non-lethal ghost run, the first time I played I pretty much killed everyone. When I got to the Lady Boyle level and someone mentioned there was a mystery about who was who, I was expecting some great puzzle where I would have to talk to everyone at the party and piece together clues based on the information each person gives you to solve the mystery. But instead, I just had to bring a drink to one person and mystery's over. I thought it was a bit disappointing and wish they fleshed out the mystery some more.
Did anyone else wish there was more to the puzzle?

You can play the game stealthily or by... killing everyone???

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 07:39 PM PDT

Hello everyone so I have a question about dishonored but more specifically it's community. I just finished the first game and am now just beginning the second.

Now I understand the desire to spare people's lives in the first game due to different ending and the rat plague and what not, but every time I ask people about the game they always describe it as having to choose between stealth and killing. I did a high chaos run in the first game. I killed everyone. Seemed logical. As the protagonist you just watched people kill your implied lover and kidnap your implied daughter and then blame you. However despite killing everybody, I remained stealth. Why do people word the playstyles in this game the way they do? Like why can't you say stealth and aggressive or assault, or loud or something?

Also about the second game. Is there different ending for killing versus non killing? I ask cause I just can't help but kill these people. I just finished the opening narrative where emiliy's aunt comes and does her thing. I chose Corvo and I tried to do non killing so hard. And by so hard, I mean I knocked out that first guard with the throne room keys but as soon as I had seen Ramsey it just felt so out of character to choke him out. Really breaks my immersion I guess lol.

So anyone know if killing people hurts your ending like in the first one?

    Why does magic smell bad?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 12:38 AM PDT

Guards always complain about the stench of the outsider and when you use magic they say there's a bad smell, do they explain why?
