- Ok, if I just Blink down real quick, I can... uhm... uh... ...shit.
- Never had this happen to me in the years I’ve been playing this game
- One non-lethal takedown that makes no sense.
- Bethesda/Microsoft should absolutely make Dishonored in VR. It’d be insane.
- This isn't just a decapitation. It's a surrealistic masterpiece. I call it... "Looking Ahead."
- Finally finished Dishonored 1 for the first time in 2021.
- I know a great deal bodyguard, I recognise those marks on your hand, a gift from a friend, a friend that talks to you in the dark, talks to you when you visit those shrines, I visited those shrines too, but I don't know you, who you are or who you fight for, your a mystery and I can't allow it.
- A question is there any chance of a new dishonored series game coming out?
- Midway through 2
- Help, very bad performance
- (Dishonored 2) I missed a painting while going for all of them, if I restart the mission and grab them all will I get the achievement?

One non-lethal takedown that makes no sense. Posted: 19 Oct 2021 10:59 AM PDT Campbell. One moment, the guy is in office as the High Overseer. Nobody is arresting him, and there is certainly no branding scheduled. Then, out of the blue, they find him unconscious with a new mark on his face. And this was treated as completely legitimate. Facepalm. I love the game for the sheer number of possibilities and alternate means of taking care of your targets, but this one scenario was just too contrived to swallow. [link] [comments]

Finally finished Dishonored 1 for the first time in 2021. Posted: 19 Oct 2021 01:04 PM PDT I finally finished Dishonored 1 in 2021 after bouncing off of it in 2013. It felt a bit odd playing the Arkane games in the order Dishonored 2 -> Prey –> Dishonored 1 but I felt it gave me good perspective. Dishonored 1 & 2 I'll get the main point out of the way. I think Dishonored 2 is the better game, by a decent amount. It's amazing the remarkable leap they did by using their own engine (more on that later). The abilities, graphics, interactivity, level design, environmental details, just across the board Dishonored 2 took something that was good and improved it to genre defining. Regarding the story I honestly felt that both 1 & 2 were equally "ok". Dishonored 2 didn't have the greatest story but man was I surprised at how much more fleshed out it felt after playing the DH1 DLC. People hyped up the DH1 story but I honestly felt like it was also just "Fine", not bad but not great. The one place I felt like DH1 overtook DH2 was the setting. Dunwall is far more interesting and immersive from both a narrative and artistic standpoint. I really really really want a Dishonored 3 where Arkane takes all they've learned from Dishonored 2 and gives us more in that part of the world. Even jumping right into Dishonored 2, I stopped and just took a LONGGGGG look around Dunwall in that first mission taking in how amazing it felt in the new engine. Engine One of the things that kept me from liking DH1 in 2013 was that the game did not look good, even for 2012 (From a PC side anyways, I get that on consoles the disparity wouldn't have more narrow). I'm not talking about the character models, those looked great. I really like the way they stylized the character models and it's a smart choice because it made them look interesting for very little performance. The first few environments though were really ugly, some of the textures were shockingly low rez and I remember looking at some details and grimacing. Sticking with it though I will say it got much better after about 2 hours. Once we got to the military complexes and the sleek Grey/Red authoritarian palette took over, I quite enjoyed it. The game started to have a feel that made me want to explore everything. I will say this though, the fact that they got the game to even look that good on Unreal Engine 3 isn't just amazing, it's a freak miracle. UE3 was notoriously difficult for anything that wasn't a corridor shooter (I followed the development of Too Human religiously and have a number of friends that worked on Mass Effect). Getting an expansive fleshed out immersive sim from UE3 must have required some serious wizardry and constant sacrifices to the Outsider. DH1 felt like a massive accomplishment on that engine. Bravo. Gameplay It's good. I did a clean hands stealth run (really should have restarted the overseer mission after I was seen once but I didn't know I'd go full ghost every mission after. So much work to not get the achievement lol). I do feel like the non-lethal stealth options were a bit limited. Sleep dart/Choke got bored after a while. People keep saying "oh sneak past, that's the real stealth" but I like to explore every area and really get a feel for the environments. I want to read every book and find every secret and it's just so much easier when you neutralize all the guards first and can run through the environment like your family just left you Home Alone at Christmas. The non-lethal takedowns felt a bit easy to do. I heard people say you have to work more for them in DH1 than 2 but I found them pretty easy to stumble upon without much effort. Some missions I felt like stealthy lethal kills might have been tougher to do. Another area where DH1 truly impressed me, and I think this is the main leg it can stand on when people call it a classic is the way the world reacts. There are probably more branching possibilities to the world in DH1 than 2 and it's pretty cool. The sad thing is most people won't even notice. Many of them I didn't even know about until I watched the documentary. Killing the announcer and seeing what happens after is probably my favorite. By the time I got to the later levels I was ready for the game to be over. I was kind of glad the last 2 levels were so short. It must have been that I was low Chaos but I finished them both in under an hour. When the main campaign was over I didn't have that "Must hit New Game right away!" like I do with my favorite games. Actually the hole time I was thinking longingly about playing Prey again. I will play this game again one day and do a full stealth and high chaos run to see the difference but I'm in no rush. DLC Man the DLC was good. It really reinvigorated my ability to keep playing, I was going to take a break but the Knife of Dunwall just captivated me right away. The team really started to get some experience and were able to make levels that looked really really good. I loved the Slaughterhouse, it's up there as my favorite level in the game. Just all around fantastic DLC. I think the only disappointingly tedious level was the last mission in the Knife of Dunwall because we'd already seen that environment and there were just so many tedious overseers to take out. I was also a bit disappointed that Delilah felt so built up and bad ass in the DH1 DLC but kind of "Meh" in DH2. After playing the main campaign I left DH1 thinking "Yeah that was a good game" but after finishing both DLC packs I left the entire package thinking "Wow, that was a great game". In the end I don't rate DH1 as high as some of the other Immersive Sims. I definitely would put Prey, Human Revolution, Dishonored 2 above it. I think it's on par with Mankind Divided. It's still a fantastic game that holds its own in that group of greatest Immersive Sims of all time. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Oct 2021 12:31 PM PDT Im playing dishonored 2 for the first time rn, performance is really bad, I know about the bad optimisation and all but I feel like my PC (RTX 3060, i7 8700k) should be able to handle that game. My frames keep dropping from 120 when indoors to sometimes around 60. I already tried all the perfomance fixes. Is this normal? Any way to fix? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Oct 2021 05:11 PM PDT Enough about slushies. Can someone with photoshop skill make a "whiskey and cigars" flavored ice cream container? One one side a happy font says "Any chance you'll share your food with me tonight?" and "Indeed I believe so". On the other side "Impossible!" and "Screw it, I'm going back". Be the hero we need! ;-) [link] [comments] |
