If they ever made a movie, Jaimie Alexander would make a perfect Delilah.

Netflix’s Arcane is as close to a Dishonored show as we’re going to get

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 12:17 PM PST

Quick disclaimer; I've never played LOL that the new Netflix show 'Arcane' is set in, and I know Dishonored and LOL have very little in common regarding gameplay, but Arcane's use of magic, the dark underbellies of ancient cities, institutional corruption and action is fantastic, as well as the causality of individual actions and how they spiral out of control.

As a fan of the game I recommend the ironically titled show very much, not to mention the acting and animation is superb. It scratched my Dishonored itch and if you see it I hope it does the same for you!

Is there an actual good choice between Paolo and Byrne?

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 08:40 AM PST

On my first playthrough I chose Paolo since I didn't really pick up on everything the Howlers were doing and I thought 'hey, he's doing something for the miners, he seems like a decent guy' but replaying the game, the Howlers do a lot of nasty shit. Which isn't too surprising for the Karnacan mafia but y'know, I thought maybe they were the Robin Hood underground saints who try to change a rotten city in their way. Turns out they're more like actual mafias and Yakuza, trying to spin the Robin Hood narrative while being pretty fucking awful. But of course a religious zealot leading an organization that executes so-called 'heretics' on a whim who probably couldn't give 2 shits about the miners doesn't seem like a fun option either. Should I just kick them both in a box and ship them over to faraway seas or should I just let them duke it out, maybe they'll happen to kill each other and it'll all be sorted out?

    Dishonored 2 - 60 FPS On Series X

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 08:14 PM PST

Arkane… not sure if this subreddit is monitored by the studio but reaching out to ask if there are any plans for a 60fps patch for series X. Any feed back would be sincerely appreciated.

Thank you for making such amazing games!

The dumbest non-lethal takedown in the franchise.

Trapping Delilah in the Void again in the sequel, after she already came back from there once before, which is what started the entire plot. She came more powerful, at that, took Emily's throne, destabilized the kingdom, and caused a great number of deaths, all because Daud made a mistake letting her live, rather than deal with her permanently. Emily/Corvo repeating that mistake after seeing first hand the scale of destruction it caused is the acme of stupidity. It's on the level of Batman, sticking mass murderers to Arkham again each time they escape.

So, it's probably the canon choice, lol.

Is there an in universe explanation as to why there are more rats/plague victims when all the people I kill turn to ash?

    Posted: 17 Nov 2021 02:24 PM PST

Something I was thinking about while doing a stealth high chaos run in D1, is how are there more plague victims and rats when anyone I do kill turns into ash? This extends to attitude shifts and extra dialogue/posters. How do people know of "the masked felon" who killed the high overseer when the one person who might've seen it ran off to safety immediately? Why does everyone get more cynical for, effectively, no reason?
