What would happen if Jessamine was never assassinated? (Slight spoilers)

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 07:38 PM PST

This has been a question in my mind for a while now ever since I've been playing the first game. If you don't know, what you should, Jessamine Kaldwin was the empress of Isles before she was killed by Daud, a infamous assassin. So let's say that she was never killed and the day behind the tower was just a normal day.

Let's get some obvious things out of the way,

Dad would never have his redemption

And Emily wouldn't be forced on the thorne at such a young age.

Okay let's talk about The Royal Spymaster plan:

If you know, the Royal spy master was basically the man who planned everything The Plague, the assassination, the kidnapping, etc. Let's say he never goes as far as to killing Jessamine but I do think he would kidnapped Emily and frame Corvo for it. Remember, Jessamine is very trusting and can possibly be easily manipulated by the Royal Spymaster.

Feeling betrayed and heartbroken that the love of her life kidnap their child for power, She sends him to Coleridge Prison for the kidnapping of Lady Emily.

So I think you see where I'm going with this. So Corvo is tortured for a confession of where young Lady Emily is. So it's basically the same from the original timeline (where Jessamine is killed and Hiram takes over as Lord Regent)

But here's the major difference, I don't think the loyalists would been even a thing. Jessamine is still empress and the only big thing that happened is that her only heir was kidnapped supposedly by the Royal protector. I don't think they would have any reason to believe that there was any foul business.

This is where it kind of ends I guess, Corvo would probably be killed and Emily would have been "found" and The Royal Spymaster would be seen as a hero.

But in this alternate timeline, Daud wouldn't need to redeem himself so Delilah could have done her ritual no problem but here's my question, Would she want to? Her Half sister is still the empress and if she did manage to possess Emily she would still have to wait a few decades for Jessamine to kick the bucket.

But as The outsider said "Delilah is playing the long game"

There's two impossible things that Delilah could have done.

    1. She could have been patient and planned a coup to overthrow Jessamine Kaldwin and take the throne for herself.

    Or

    1. She could have done the ritual to possess Emily and keep in contact with Brianna Ashworth, one of her closest allies to make out a plan to kill Jessamine.

Okay I'm probably going to be making two more posts about the two possible scenarios.

But for the meantime if you have anything you want disagree on or something to add just comment down below.

I’m sure this has been asked before and if so I’m hopeful a mod will link the thread to me.

Has there been talk of a Dishonored where players can make their own levels? Like "Super Mario Maker 2" kind of thing where you can have different game modes (Dishonored/Knife of Dunwall/Dishonored 2/Death of the Outsider/combination) where you can make your own sort of challenges or campaign?
