    Death of the outsider questions

    Posted: 06 May 2021 03:28 PM PDT

I just finished death of the outsider. I loved it! Bringing Daud back, our killer seeking peace, fleshing the world out and some awesome tools! The only thing is I feel like I missed something in a cutscene or maybe a book in game?

Why was the outsider originally killed and what does "giving the void a face" really mean? Is there a connection between the cult and the abbey? (Ruinic, similarly shaped swords?)

I'm sure there's more but this is all I can think of! I loved it and I hope there's more in the future but I'm desperate for answers!!!

Anyone feel that D2 is a better game when considering gameplay mechanics?

    Posted: 05 May 2021 07:15 PM PDT

I've played some 2000 hours with 100s of runs of all the Dishonored games back from 2012-13. I didn't have anyone to share my thoughts with, so decided to post here.

I know D1 is legendary and some people don't like D2 at all due to the story/setting/performance. But D2 is fun when you know what can actually be done in the game.

Many ways to incapacitate NPCs like-

    • Sleep darts
    • Stun mine (attach to surface, or attach to object and throw near NPCs)
    • Incapacitate while in shadow walk
    • Using Void Rapture and Mesmerize together
    • Using far reach+upgrade to pull NPCs towards you and then choke
    • Using possession chain with Separation Trauma
    • Moving behind and choke
    • Stagger them by slapping/punching/blocking them and then choke
    • Throwing stuff at their head
    • Throwing them into one of those generator things
    • Making them walk into one of those generator things (after damaging it using an object)
    • Throwing chloroform bottle near them
    • Slide tackle and incapacitate
    • Drop down and incapacitate
    • Choke out from behind even when they are leaning on a waist high wall/window
    • Throw them into tight spaces (like under a table or garbage bin) mid-choke
    • Choke, throw mid-choke and kick/hit them
    • Throwing them into water and very quickly picking the body up

Lethal, well, watch videos from mispap1/StealthGamerBR/Masked Felon. There are other funny ways as well-

    • It is a lot of fun to lead enemies into each other, like leading the howlers and overseers to each other, or the grand guard and witches.
    • Take a greyhound skull to a pack of enemies and watch it kill everyone :P
    • It is too darn funny when you lead the grand guard to a nestkeeper (in the Royal Conservatory level). They lose track of you and keep trying to kill him and the bloodflies.
    • Sometimes a guard stands next to a ledge. Alerting him can push him over lol (in the Good Doctor level). You can even slide tackle guards near a ledge, they fall off and die.
    • In the Royal Conservatory level starting, you can lure guards to the ledge on the roof of the overseer building (they climb over the wall). Sometimes the guards themselves fall and land below without damage lol.
    • You can lead the grand guard to bloodflies.
    • Lead the crown killer and grand guard towards each other. You can even use far reach upgrade to pull the crown killer over the bloodfly nest barrier.
    • Re-wire a wall of light and watch some guards push other guards into it while running to investigate.
    • Shoot off the clockworks' head and watch them decimate the guards.
    • Choke a guard (don't finish) and wait for another regular guard to throw an object. The guard you're choking dies.

What do you guys think? Is D2 worth multiple runs, or did it not interest you despite gameplay improvements?

Can I play Dishonored 2 with 8gb RAM?

    Posted: 05 May 2021 08:17 PM PDT

PcGameBenchmark says my pc meets the 'minimum' requirement but fails to meet 'recommended' because it needs 16gb RAM. Rest of the specs are fine. Are there some possible problems if i dont meet this specific requirement?

    Thanks!
