Dishonored games never fail to amaze me Posted: 17 Jul 2021 12:04 PM PDT I'm on what must be my 5th or 6th play through of D2 and I've just looked out across Karnaca harbour area, only to see a whale breaching off in the distance! Actually had me drop my jaw in wonder! No matter how many times I play these games, I always discover/witness something new and wonderful. Love these games so much! E: typo [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Jul 2021 07:54 AM PDT I would love to play as one. I don't want to fight them when I encounter them in the games because I think they're so kick arse. [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Jul 2021 08:05 AM PDT with my first playthrough of both games i go for high chaos, first game samuel hit hard, second game i jokingly stabbed sokalov at the end and then it worked so i immediatly headed up for boat lady, these games are great [link] [comments]

Where would you want a dishonored 3 to be set? Posted: 17 Jul 2021 09:39 AM PDT Personally i think Pandyssia would be coolest, maybe with the protagonist being Wyman (Emilys lover) who heads an expedition to the continent [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Jul 2021 02:25 PM PDT I've twice completed this mission but it always says I was detected at the end. But I can't figure out where? Anyone aware of a glitch or a common NPC that notices Corvo without setting off the usual indicators like music or the wavy lines around the head? [link] [comments]
My attempt to fix mana usage in the franchise. Posted: 17 Jul 2021 09:57 AM PDT By this point we are all already familiar with the mana consumption problem in the Dishonored games. Single use consumables are, in my opinion, a thing of the past, and I hope they gradually become less and less of a core mechanic in videogames as the industry polishes sub-systems in their games. The avoidance of high consumption powers by players isn't a real issue with the game; as there are plenty of mana elixirs in game to keep you going, but the fact that you require the use of a consumable to keep your mana bar filled causes the "I may need it later" effect on us, and so we choose to fetch the key instead of using a rat tunnel, to meticulously take each enemy one by one instead of bending time, and we all around miss out on gameplay elements and cool moments because this hoarding mentality (that we can't help) gimps us. DotO was a huge step forward regarding the mechanics of mana usage and powers, but the system is still flawed in that it doesn't allow distinction between different power's costs, and so we don't see any high impact powers like Bend Time or Possession in the game, although Billy's unique toolkit still allows for cool gameplay nonetheless. The best kind of consumable is the kind that you want to use, and that you are okay with using. Dark Soul's Estus and The Witcher's potions are the two most prominent and best examples I can give. So, after that huge preface, this is finally the solution I've came up with: · We are keeping the 100% mana bar divided in 5 20% segments from the two base games. The basic mobility skill costs 20% mana, which regenerates. High impact powers cost anywhere from 40%-60% mana. As good as DotO's choices with mana regen were (for the kind of game it is) it's still limiting. · Instead of carrying 10 mana and 10 health elixirs, the protagonist will carry 2 canteen-style bottles with "X" charges each, let's say 3, for health and mana. I also justify this with the head-cannon that you are an assassin that is fighting, rolling, tumbling, and jumping from buildings, and I find the notion of carrying 20 incredibly fragile-looking glass vials through those situations kind of far-fetched. · You'll start each mission with full canteens, refilling them for "free", on the assumption that the character can go resupply normally. · Elixir vials are scarcer in each level than in the past games, and they refill "Y" charges of the corresponding canteen (maybe 1, or maybe they refill the whole canteen, depending on how rare you want elixirs to be, and the power usage you expect from one elixir resupply to the next) · Upgrades allow you to increase your canteen's capacity, going from 3/3 to 4/4 to 5/5, or whatever the game devs consider appropriate. With this changes you are encouraged to use your mana a bit more gratuitously, as you get a "free" refill at the start of each mission, and you don't have a lot of storage capacity (3 instead of 10) to hoard them, so you are encouraged to use the charges more quickly, as to not "waste" the elixir vials you find throughout the level. I hope you find this post interesting and it encourages discussion. Really wishing they can nail down the mana system if we ever get a Dishonored 3. [link] [comments]

Dishonored 2 PC: flashing white artifacting on player model Posted: 17 Jul 2021 03:12 PM PDT Hi, I'm experiencing a annoying graphical issue in which the player model will sometimes flash with white artifacting. It usually happens in indoors or dark areas. I've tried lowering the shadow settings but it didn't fix it. Any ideas? Thanks! Playing on a RTX 3080 with a 5600X. [link] [comments]
Would bonecharms work after the Outsider died? Posted: 17 Jul 2021 03:11 PM PDT So, basically my question is whether their power comes from the Outsider, or they draw directly from the Void itself. In dishonored there are four sources of magic: Outsider's mark, Outsider's runes (which can be involved into some kinds of fancy rituals with occult marks all over the place), three types of bonecharms and Void artifacts. It's obvious, that Runes and Marks are linked to the black eyed bastard, and Void artifacts (such as Billie's hand, eye and sword) are not. But what about bonecharms? The reason I'm asking this is because I am writing a fanfiction about Thomas, and a major part of its plot is based on Daud's fear of losing his mark and the Outsider's alliance. So, he and Thomas are investigating how the bonecharms function in order to recreate some supernatural abilities without involving the oversensitive god. But if creating a bonecharm is actually a sacrifice to the Outsider, then it doesn't fit in properly (So Daud is afraid, that his way of life is way too harsh for the Outsider, and that he will retract his mark and refuse to ever do any business with Daud again — that's what he hints to the assassin during one of their talks) [link] [comments]
