Dishonored vs. Open-World Games... Posted: 26 Dec 2019 10:57 AM PST I've noticed how much more choice and diversity the Dishonored games offer when compared to your average open world game. It's actually quite sad and ironic how they boast about freedom and exploration, but I don't remember many story missions with multiple paths/endings. Not to mention I've played many repetitive open world games, especially when the map is littered the hundreds of collectibles and fetch quests. Metal Gear Solid V did a very good job at giving you choice and freedom for every mission. One of the better open world titles for sure. Skyrim was LEGENDARY when I played it in 2011, but it's meh in 2019. Assassin's Creed IV was awesome. Probably the only open world I felt truly free to explore. Something about sailing the seas was just so amazing. Oh man the Batman Arkham games were fantastic, too. I wouldn't quite count Arkham Asylum as an open world game, but Arkham City, Origins (it was decent) and Knight were all great. City is my favorite of the four. What do you guys think? Have you played any solid open world titles? [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 09:01 AM PST Just started playing Dishonored 2 for the first time this week. I wanted to take a few screenshots, and sure enough it's got Nvidia Ansel built-in. However all of my output captures are pure black images. I've tried various Ansel settings including regular screenshots, super screenshots, stereo screenshots, etc., and they're all black. Ansel outputs work just fine on a few other games I've got installed including Hitman 2, and Battlefield V. Is this a known issue? Are there any workarounds? Or is it a bug w/ Nvidia's drivers (I'm using the latest version). [link] [comments]
Dunwall Tower Skeleton Key missing? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:41 AM PST Just went through every chest and wardrobe in the Boyle mansion. The skeleton key isnt in its normal place or anywhere else. Was it removed from the game at some point? [link] [comments]
Unlimited Bend Time (tier 2) question. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 03:47 AM PST Does anyone know how to edit Dishonored to make Bend Time (tier 2) have an unlimited duration? [link] [comments]

I love Prey but I'm having trouble finding freedom in Dishonored. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:20 AM PST I have already beaten the game once as a pacifist to get the good ending. What I have found is that most the game felt locked off to me if I wanted to get a good ending. Now I'm trying to play it again but most my options come from how do I want to kill everyone, yet the game punishes you for doing such a thing. On my first playthrough I took my time with stealth , talking to everyone, exploring every level. But the levels don't feel as varied. And exploring felt tedious on stealth due to how difficult it is to recover after being discovered. I also found the story very bare bones and I am not sure how others feel in love with it. You are framed for a murder, during a plague, you were freed by people who believe you are innocent and you get powers for no real reason. That is 95% of the entire story. The rest of the content comes from learning about characters, and reading some lore. I found most the reading just to much and not as interesting, unlike prey where I read every thing at least once. Don't get me wrong some story lore was interesting, and I found some characters interesting and likable. But it doesn't change the fact that the game was lacking in it's story heavily. When I got to the flooded area the story felt like it heavily dragged especially since I was a stealth build. I just don't have an urge to play through it again lethally because I feel like it's BS that's all it takes for a bad ending. I feel that besides ignoring quest there isn't much variety in how the story will play out. And I've seen most the game. The chaos factor of the game just feels as though it restricts the games freedom and narrows the game down to get from point A to B as fast as possible and reload constantly when you are seen. The upgrades in the game also lose value when you can't use any of your weapons. I don't want the game to get worst and more tedious towards the end if I dare to play with the games mechanics. What are your thoughts and opinions on this. Do you even care about the ending? When you play the game on repeat do you usually go for the bad ending most the time and just due a special stealth or ghost run? Lastly , the ending was definitely crap and not worth the trouble. It is so abrupt and ends with a cutscenes narration just telling you what happens. I own every Dishonored game. Played Prey , played Deus Ex, played Ark (Arkane studios older game), yet I can't get into this immersive sim, it feels so limiting. [link] [comments] |
