Posted: 08 Aug 2021 11:03 AM PDT Penniless kid from the streets rises up and achieves a status of nobility through his prowess as a swordsman before falling in love with the queen that he was assigned to guard. After losing her tragically, he's corrupted by a dark and mystical power that turns him into a supernatural agent of death defined by anger and vengeance. Both also wear a scary mask/helmet and have the powers of telekinesis and mind control/posession. Both can also stop bullets and projectiles with their powers and have retractable swords. High chaos Emily (at least as a child) is also basically Palpatine in that she uses her father as her enforcer. tl;dr: Corvo is basically steampunk Darth Vader. [link] [comments]

Let’s talk about Dark Vision in Dishonored 1, 2 and DotO Posted: 08 Aug 2021 01:15 PM PDT TL;DR: Dark Vision in D1 is cool but D2 isn't great because enemies and the hue are the same color. DotO makes great improvements to the whole type of power it is. I think Dark Vision is an excellent power that adds a supernatural feeling to the game and a great tool for planning out attacks or avoiding enemies. However I think D2 really misses the mark when it comes to Dark Vision. In Dishonored 1, Dark Vision is great. Enemies are clear to see you can't miss objects with it. It's very helpful in finding coins or food or whatever. Excellent. In Dishonored 2, Dark Vision isn't as great as 1. Dark Vision now essentially pulsates every couple of seconds which is different because in D1 it would be constant until it turned itself off. The worst thing about Dark Vision in D2 is the coloring. D1 Dark Vision has a dark blue hue and enemies are highlighted in yellow. Why is this important? Because contrast. Contrast easily helps you identify anything living. In D2, Dark Vision has an orange hue but also highlights enemies in orange. This is very horrible because everything just blends in. Not to mention the pulsating effect means you won't constantly see enemies. I think it would've been better just for all enemies to be highlighted in blue like clockwork soldiers and up the contrast to make the blue brighter. A simple fix like this would've made it much more appealing. I do think the best thing to be added to Dark Vision is the premonition upgrade which allows you to see where enemies will go. I find this to be super useful and a great addition at least besides the bad coloring Dark Vision has. Let's also talk about the name itself. Dark Vision's main thing is "seeing in the dark" and x ray vision. In D1 Dark Vision actually let's you see better in darkly lit areas. However in D2, Dark Vision isn't really helpful for this? A lot of areas, even in night time missions like Grand Palace have some sort of light source nearby or natural light to help so you'll never actually be in the dark. Plus I think everyone thinks about this power as purely x ray vision so there's no need for this add on at least in my opinion. As for DotO, Billie's power is great because we can mark enemies and not only this but enemies show up as bright yellow akin to D1 and you can see them with just normal vision. No orange or blue hue needed. In my opinion this is the best version of a highlighting or seeing enemy power. [link] [comments]

Intentional or really cool bug for Blink in Dishonored 2? Posted: 07 Aug 2021 10:03 PM PDT So in Dishonored 2, if falling from a data height, you can save yourself with redirective blink and finding a ledge to climb on. As long as you see the arrows, you'll be fine. This made me confused when replaying D1 because I tried it but my momentum still made me take damage. So maybe this is a possible bug in D2? Either way, great way to save yourself from a fall. [link] [comments] |
