The biggest reason we need a new dishonoured

There is one thing that MUST be shown in the next dishonoured, without it, I will consider it a failure of a game…

There needs to be a level set during the fugue feast. Its only been mentioned a couple of times in universe but it would amazing if we could have a level set in an aristocratic neighbourhood (like in the Boyle party) but halfway through it completely descends into anarchy.

    It would be amazing.

About the size of the Isles and Pandyssia compared to our world (a long post)

About the size of the Isles and Pandyssia compared to our world (a long post)

I'm a vivid fan of both Dishonored and geography, so when I learned that the game universe has its unique map, I immediately went searching for a comparison with our real world. Alas, there were no such maps, so I felt like it was my duty to create one.

    Apologies for my awkward English.

    The Empire.

    https://preview.redd.it/nyj9v7bfcos71.png?width=764&format=png&auto=webp&s=3b315690281b7112e7a97f1517bc4f0fad1752fe

So, it's known that each of the Isles has a different climate. Serkonos is tropical with extremely mild winters (in one of the books, it was mentioned the isle has different seasons, but I doubt the temperature difference is more than 10 degrees Celsius). Gristol is a lot like the British Isles, rainy, with both the winter and summer being warm and having occasional mists. Morley is dump and not that different from northern Gristol, and Tyvia spends half of the year in darkness, with its most north city being in the tundra. However, Dabokva, the capital, is warm enough to grow pears and make wine.

So, it makes it even easier to compare the Isles to Europe, Tyvia residing near Norway, and Serkonos being similar to Spain and Italy.

It makes the Empire quite big, stretching from Norway and up to Greece. If you put Gristol horizontally, it stretches from France to Ukraine, covering approximately one-forth of Europe! Rather impressive.

Of course, one cannot deny that the climate of the Empire can differ from Europe, which may influence the size comparison. For example, on my map, Dunwall, which is the equivalent of London in the game, is placed in between Romania and Serbia. Thus, the climate there should be much warmer, but we don't really know which currents (if any) are present in the game's Ocean, so I will leave it like that.

    Pandyssia.

    https://preview.redd.it/zdurbetgcos71.png?width=2002&format=png&auto=webp&s=7aeb16781aba1382ec8aad7c5fbeac70d139c1b1

Since we know the approximate size of the Empire of the Isles, it's a no-brainer to see how BIG Pandyssia actually is.

I'm sorry if the map looks sloppy and it's hard to see, but it was the best thing I could do using tools under my hand.

Still, even with my hand-made map, you can understand the sheer size of Pandyssia. It takes almost all of the Pacific Ocean, stretching from ALASKA to ANTARCTICA, almost making it possible for a traveler to go from one Pole to another!

However, it makes me question how it was possible to map the southern tip of the continent if it resides on the Pole and beyond it, but maybe the Dishonored's climate is different up there. I cannot tell.

So, it would be fair to conclude that Pandyssia is big enough to contain all of the Earth's continents, maybe excluding Africa. And makes it easy to understand why it's so difficult to colonize. Usually, a super-continent such as Pandyssia or Pangaea (the one we had in our planet's past) has a very harsh climate the deeper you go from the coast, as the wet sea winds cannot reach its core.

Thank you for reading. I hope it was entertaining for you. Please, feel free to add something! I'd be glad to have a further discussion :)

    Cheers!

    why is karnaca so terrible?

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 08:15 AM PDT

I've Just finished the Second game (amazing experience btw), and i was thinking about Karnaca and its situation. Everybody in the town talks about How great things were 5 years ago (when Abele's father rules) and now the town seems to be like Dunwall in the First game, How did it come to this? I know Abele is a tyrant, but is the man trying to speedrun the destrucion of a prosperous nation? I cant blame the bloodflies as the rats in dishonored 1 because they were always there, and i also cant blame the Power vacum because Duke Abele is also there. Is there any piece of lore im missing? Any war going on? (I remember hearing the Duke talking about a war in a loudspeaker in the Dust District)

I’m going through my first Dishonored 2 playthrough… Oh my Gah .

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 02:41 AM PDT

So I tried giving this game a play on PC and after reading how poorly optimized it was I refunded. I bought the game 2 days ago for my PS4. I am in love. The story comes off as "take back your throne" on a surface level but as I'm going though, reading every tad bit on these characters and the effects they've had on this world, it brings it to LIFE. Arkane did a fantastic job with small details riddled throughout the world.

I'm going through as Emily Kaldwin on Low Chaos. I'm at Stilton's Manor using the time piece and I am blown away. I haven't had this much fun with a game since Bloodborne.

I'm more than likely going to buy the Arkane collection after this and play through this entire series. I've played one, but not the DLCS.

    That is it. Just gushing.

My 2nd collection on Dishonored 2

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 12:42 AM PDT

I’d personally rather have a Dishonored movie or show than another game

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 04:24 PM PDT

I love dishonored 1, I have more than 200 hours in it. I really liked dishonored 2 as well, albeit less. And I didn't really enjoy DOTO all that much to be honest. I think I am ok without them making another game, but a film/movie set in the world would be awesome, I don't think the lore is explored enough in the game and the world itself is perfect for a show. Imagine daud's rise to power, that would be awesome.

Hiding/moving the blade during non-combat gameplay?

Hiding/moving the blade during non-combat gameplay?

Is there an option to hide the blade, or have it in a different position on the screen, when not in combat? I couldn't find a sheathe mechanic, and seeing it over the world at all times gives me a headache, like there's something in front of my eye.

Dishonored: Definitive Edition on the Pc version of Xbox gamepass long load times

    Posted: 10 Oct 2021 02:42 PM PDT

Hey guys, new to the sub and Dishonored series. Is it normal for the First load time on Pc gamepass to be very long/infinite?

The car is still moving and so is the loading symbol but other than that nothing else is changing after 3-5 minutes. Tried reloading it and switching from a HD to SSD.

    anyhelp will be appreciated!

It's pretty distracting so i'd like to fix this. Thanks in advance for any help.

It even happens to bodies I pick up, very bright glow :C

EDIT: it seems to have stopped since getting to Dunwall streets. (I was right at the start in that screenshot)
